"What turns a good performance into a GREAT performance? What makes the hairs on the back of our neck stand up, even if we're only halfway through listening to a song? What makes us Google ""how to download YouTube video as mp3 no ads totally legal no copyright infringement intended"" after watching a particularly compelling quartet or chorus performance?

In this class, we'll ask (and answer) all these rhetorical questions, and more! Join us as we analyze our favorite barbershop performances, and go on the journey from original composition, to idea, to arrangement, to icon. We'll explore all things musicality, from melody and harmony, to rhythm and meter, to lyric and embellishment, and how they combine their powers (Captain Planet-style) to create something legendary (How I Met Your Mother-style)!

Basic arranging experience is helpful, but not required. Intermediate music theory experience is recommended as we discuss concepts by way of nerdy vocabulary."
