In this advanced level course, we will challenge experienced front line directors to determine the most effective genres of song and specific strategies for performance for their chorus. The lyric and dramatic intent of a piece will be explored, along with specific tools for enhancing these intentions. Development of subtle vocal nuances for singers and sections, along with whole chorus vocal timbres and inflection will be investigated and experienced. Programming songs for show or contest, along with effective rehearsal planning will round out the week. Thic class utilizes srategies explored in Singing... But Make It Stylish, by Nicky McGrath, and Rehearsal Techniques, by Joe Cerutti
